Veritatis Splendor

"Keep your eyes fixed upon Jesus, who inspires and perfects our faith" --Hebrews 12:2

Pope Benedict XVI before our Lord

And only where God is seen does life truly begin. Only when we meet the living God in Christ do we know what life is. We are not some casual and meaningless product of evolution.
Each of us is the result of a thought of God.
Each of us is willed,
each of us is loved,
each of us is necessary.
There is nothing more beautiful than to be surprised by the Gospel, by the encounter with Christ. There is nothing more beautiful than to know Him and to speak to others of our friendship with Him.
~Pope Benedict XVI, Homily April 24th, 2005

Pro-life and looking for a job?

Just got this e-mail from a friend back in MN - if anyone is interested in the Twin Cities area (or willing to relocate there):

Dear Pro-Lifers,
As many of you know in May the State Legislature
paseed, and the Governor signed, the Positive
Alternatives Act. This law gives funding to pro-life
crisis pregnancy centers. Along with this funding is a
new position created for an administer. Since it's a
state job, it will be open to anyone, regardless of
their stance on Life issues. It is important that good
pro-lifers apply for this job so the money gets spent
wisely! I heard from an outside source that many
Planned Parenthood types will be applying so I thought
it was important to get good pro-life applicants in
the pool.

I do not know the requirements but I'm assuming they
are asking for a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in
Business, Human Services, Health Administration,
Public Policy, Social Work, or some related field.

"Positive Alternatives will make service grants
available to life-affirming organizations that provide
direct care to pregnant women and their unborn
children and provide referrals for services. Those
services include medical attention, nutritional
support, housing assistance, adoption services,
education and employment assistance, and parenting
education and support. Grants totaling $2.5 million
per year will be awarded beginning July 1, 2006. Any
organization involved in promoting, providing or
referring for abortions would be ineligible for the
grant program."
