Veritatis Splendor

"Keep your eyes fixed upon Jesus, who inspires and perfects our faith" --Hebrews 12:2

Pope Benedict XVI before our Lord

And only where God is seen does life truly begin. Only when we meet the living God in Christ do we know what life is. We are not some casual and meaningless product of evolution.
Each of us is the result of a thought of God.
Each of us is willed,
each of us is loved,
each of us is necessary.
There is nothing more beautiful than to be surprised by the Gospel, by the encounter with Christ. There is nothing more beautiful than to know Him and to speak to others of our friendship with Him.
~Pope Benedict XVI, Homily April 24th, 2005

"Sadness, no - sacrifice, yes"

In other vocation news, my dear friend Molly entered the Nashville Dominicans a couple of years ago - and she was recently interviewed as part of a PBS special! Sr. Amelia Hueller's smiling face and testimony can be read here!!

I love the Dominicans...I really do believe I am supposed to be a Dominican, whether in the lay state or religious life.

There is just something about them. And I don't think that in this world, so often bereft of the true Gospel, the Dominicans are reviving in a HUGE way.

Um...Benedictines are needed, also! I'll NEVER slam a good community of faithful Catholics!

I just love how God uses each charism in a way that melds with the others...distinct, but unified.

Hmmm...just made a connection. Religious communities are ALSO a reflection of the Trinity. I may need to contemplate that idea.

Yay, St Cecilia Dominicans! One of my best friends is also a Sister - but she's been there for - um - awhile.

One of the many things I love about the Nashville Dominicans is their laser like focus on a single charism - teaching. They teach different things, but there's no confusion about trying to take up with some other apostolic work. You want to be a Nashville Dominican, you pray and you teach.
